MapGridder Boards turns a picture of a map into a playable board. Upload a battle map, a wargame board, a dungeon floor plan, or a piece of concept art, then snap a square or hex grid onto it. The grid is locked to the image pixels, so a cell stays the same size no matter how far you zoom, and two clicks on opposite corners of a square already printed on the art set the cell size and offsets for you. Add numbered tokens, measure distances in squares and in table units such as feet or meters, then export the finished board at an exact pixels-per-square size for a virtual tabletop or for print.
It is built for game masters preparing an encounter, wargamers gridding a scanned board, game developers blocking out a level, and artists who need to hand a client a gridded version of a map. Your image is read in the browser and kept on your device, so nothing is uploaded to a server. Personal and non-commercial use is free; commercial use needs a paid license.
