Terms

Last updated: June 10, 2026

1. What this is

MapGridder ("the Service") is a free browser-based tool for overlaying grids on maps, measuring distances, and exporting screenshots. It is provided as is, with no warranties. By using the Service you agree to these terms.

2. How you can use it (license)

MapGridder is free for personal, educational, and other non-commercial use: hobby projects, study, training, and personal planning, including exporting and sharing your maps, at no charge.

Commercial use is not included in the free tier. If you use the Service in or for a business, for a client or employer, or as part of any revenue-generating activity, you need a paid commercial license. Contact us to arrange one. On-prem and air-gapped deployments are covered separately on our on-prem page.

Don't abuse the Service, try to break it, or use it to do anything illegal. Map data and other content shown by the Service comes under its own license (see section 3).

3. Map data

Basemap tiles, satellite imagery, geocoding, and elevation data are provided by third-party mapping services under their own terms. The underlying street map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL license. We don't guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of any map data.

4. Accuracy

Grids, measurements, and coordinates are approximations meant for planning and reference. Don't use them as the sole basis for navigation, emergency response, or any safety-of-life decision.

5. Privacy & advertising

We use analytics for traffic stats and display advertising. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how to control it. Where required by law, ad and analytics cookies stay off until you grant consent.

6. Your content

Files you import (GPX, KML) and content you create (waypoints, annotations, routes) stay in your browser. We don't upload or store them on our servers. You keep all rights to them.

7. No warranties, limited liability

The Service is provided as is and as available. We don't promise it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is capped at US$50.

8. If your misuse causes a claim

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used the Service (in violation of these terms or applicable law), you agree to cover our reasonable costs.

9. Governing law & age

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and disputes go to the competent courts of the Tel Aviv District. This doesn't take away any mandatory consumer protections you have where you live. You must be at least 16 to use the Service (or the minimum age for consent to data processing in your country, whichever is higher).

10. Changes & contact

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the latest version; for material changes we'll show a notice on the homepage on your next visit. Questions? Use the contact page.

11. Trademarks

All third-party product names, logos, and brands mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. References to them are descriptive only and do not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.
